Tennessee Fitness spa is located in a secluded and peaceful setting along Forty-Eight Creek and next to double span natural bridge. A beautiful red topped bridge crosses our pond and benches are dispersed around the grounds for our guests to read, reflect, and relax. The scent of clean, country air, and the sounds of birds and nature surround you in this peaceful setting

Far from the hustle and bustle of the city or the stress of your working life, you can spend your days in our beautiful, wooded, river valley hiking, exercising or just taking it easy.  Our trails are well maintained and our gardens are preened with meticulous care to inspire our guests to take a stroll and enjoy the feelings of a care-free day or the personal satisfaction and accomplishment after a day of working out.

This beautiful land, originally important to many Indian Tribes for its clear, cool water, fishing streams and access to the natural ice cave, was eventually settled and developed into a recreational fishing camp in 1933.  It was not until automobiles became popular that a remodeled and updated resort, "The Scenic Natural Bridge Tourist Resort" , opened in 1955.. Two of the original stone structures, a stone arch and the dining hall, still stand along with the original 1955, outdoor, concrete, bowling lane. This property and the Natural Bridge have always remained in the hands of private individuals.

The Natural Bridge Property was purchased in 1990 by Joe and Nancy Shaw with the purpose in mind to build the Tennessee Fitness Spa.  Formlery from Alaska, The Shaws built a place for people to come, relax and work out in their new home; the friendly hills of Tennessee. The first guests were welcomed in February of 1991 and Nancy Shaw is still here to welcome incoming guests every Sunday evening.
